As promised in FALL FLORALS AND TV SHOWS TO WATCH, I would like to present my first look from the biggest designer/high-street collaboration of the year: ERDEM x H&M. This year H&M decided to collaborate with ERDEM, just like they did last year with KENZO (have a look at my H&M x KENZO looks from last year: KENZO x H&M MADNESS, KENZO x H&M – PART 2 and KENZO x H&M – PART 3) and other designers in the past.
Erdem Moralioglu is a Canadian fashion designer, famous for his gorgeous floral gowns worn by everyone from Nicole Kidman to the Duchess of Cambridge. The ERDEM x H&M collection is like a dangerous romance of bold and delicate, full of dark florals, lace and rich details.
This year was no different to the previous years in regards to the madness surrounding the launch of the collection. Dedicated fashionistas were queuing overnight outside the selected H&M stores, there was a limited time to shop and a limited amount of items each person was allowed to buy, only three days to return the items purchased in stores, the H&M website was not accessible due to the server overload, items were disappearing from the online shopping baskets and almost everything was sold out online within the first hour! I had several items in my online shopping basket which I really, really wanted however they were gone before I was able to complete the payment! The items I wanted and was unable to get are below.
I have now noticed some of the items have now become available online, e.g. the bag featured in this post, as well as the blouse in sizes 6 and 8, so keep checking the website if you would like to grab a piece from this beautiful collection. It’s extremely unlikely that any of the items I wanted will become available again as these were the most desired pieces and the first to vanish. A lot of the items from this collection have appeared on second-hand marketplace websites like eBay, with some put on sale for almost ten times the original retail price!
The look featured today is one out of three so if you would like to see what else I was able to get, stay tuned as there are two more ERDEM x H&M looks coming! Let me know in the comments whether you like this collection and what you think about my first look!
Have a great rest of the week!
