Happy Monday everyone!
It’s still London Fashion Week! A few days ago I published a post where I presented my favorite pieces from COUTURiSSIMO SS18 collection which marked their UK launch (you can read it here).
Today I would like to introduce you to an amazing designer label, IRENE SJ YU, whose beautiful SS18 collection was recently presented during London Fashion Week.
Irene Shuang Ju Yu founded her label in 2015 after graduating from Central Saint Martin in London. Her work is inspired by art, music, religion, society and cultural environment. She aims for her clothes to liberate the human body and bring out the personality of the person who wears them. A pervasive theme of the IRENE SJ YU label is to empower femininity whilst still evoking a touch of romance and novelty.
For SS18 IRENE SJ YU presents a lively collection which fuses office wear with a fun holiday wardrobe. Traditional tailoring fabrics re transformed into comfortable holiday silhouettes, balancing strict with louche. In line with the signature style of IRENE SJ YU, contrasts are seen throughout the collection, especially a balance of modern streetwear with girly kitsch aspects. The collection also features off the shoulder designs, ruffles and strong prints as well as a playful exploration of volume in a form of a myriad of layers and textures.
IRENE SJ YU has been featured in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Tatler, VOGUE Japan, NYLON Japan, VOGUE IT, NUMERO, Wonderland and Metal, and worn by Brooke Candy, Sita Abellan and Jorja Smith.
Have a look at IRENE SJ YU SS18 collection which I absolutely fell in love with! My favourite look is the one with wide pink trousers, grey blazer and pink corset. What is your favourite outfit from the collection?
