Easy DIY Halloween Tulle Pom Pom Spider: Step By Step Tutorial
What you’ll need
- Black tulle roll (order from Amazon here)
- Black pipe cleaners (order from Amazon here)
- Two white buttons
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- String
- A small elastic band (e.g a mini rubber band for hair braids)
1. Prepare The Tulle
Roll out your tulle to your desired length and cut it into equal pieces. The shorter you cut the tulle, the smaller your spider will be. For this spider, I cut 8 pieces of the same size.
Stack the pieces of tulle on top of each other, aligning the edges.
2. Create The Fan Folds
Fold the tulle like a paper fan. Take one end and fold about 2-3 cm, flip the tulle, and fold it back on itself. Repeat until the entire length is folded.
3. Add Legs
Insert the spider legs between the folds of the tulle fan. As you work through the layers, make sure the legs are separated by different folds, so that they spread out evenly from the center.
4. Secure The Center
Use an elastic band to secure the folded tulle in the middle. Tie a long string around it, allowing enough length to hang your spider later.
5. Fluff And Shape
Pull each layer of tulle away from the bunch and fluff it up until you reach your desired shape.
6. Add Eyes
Sew two buttons onto the tulle to give your spider eyes.
And there you have it – your spooky, fluffy tulle spider, perfect for Halloween!
With your tulle pom pom spider ready, you’re all set to add a creepy-crawly flair to your Halloween setup!
These spiders can be reused year after year. Mix and match them with other DIY Halloween crafts to create a haunting atmosphere that’s both fun and festive.
Happy crafting, and may your Halloween be filled with thrills, chills, and plenty of creative scares!
